General Rules
- Use proper grammar and spelling.
- 1337 is strictly forbidden.
- When using "documentation" from an in-game source, use the quote template.
- Use the Templates whenever possible, if we don't have a template that works, make one so we do.
- Be sure to wiki-link important terms in any articles you write, this allows people to see more about those terms quickly.
Dasarian Wiki Point of View
The Dasarian Wiki is meant to be an Out of Character (OOC) resource for Dungeon Masters and Players alike. Because this, the idea behind the Dasarian Wiki is the same as that of a source book, not an In Character (IC) encyclopedia. When writing entries keep in mind this and try and maintain an OOC Point of View (OCPV) rather than an IC Point of View (ICPV). It is often hard to distinguish these viewpoints, so when in doubt post it anyway! If there are problems someone will clean it up and make it work better. So key rules of thumb.
- Don't refer to characters from the Dasaria 1 campaign as "Dasarian Rebels/Heretics/etc" or "Dasarian Heroes," a better term is simple "Dasarians."
- Don't refer to the Kingdom of Dasaria as the "rebel province" or a "breakaway province." Likewise, be careful in terms used for the Empire of Varana.
- Avoid personal attacks or over the top praise of former (or current) player-characters. A good example of a character page.
Unofficial Lore
The Dasarian Wiki is meant to be an Out of Character (OOC) resource for Dungeon Masters and Players alike. However, this project is first and foremost a resource created by and for the players of Dasaria 2. DM APPROVAL IS NOT NECESSARY FOR CONTENT ON THIS WIKI!
Any and all user-generated content is free to be posted here. Note, however, that the first source for official lore here is the Dasarian Lore page. This page is protected and can only be edited by wiki Sysops (see below). Lore that is not recognized as official by DMs will generally not appear there... if it does, a mistake has been made.
Finally, when in doubt, edit the wiki anyway! This resource is a constantly changing and growing one, and you should not feel intimidated by the already existing content, or any of the rules. Unless you're vandalizing, you have nothing to lose by editing or creating a page... 99% of the time, you will be making a significant contribution, even if you only add a small amount.
Vandalism
Vandalism in any form will not be tolerated. Vandalism is the editing of a wiki page to render it unusable for its purpose, to include false or defamatory information, or other things which would inhibit users from accessing information. There presently is no concrete policy regarding vandalism, but it is likely any perpetrators would be banned.
Users and the Wiki "Staff"
Users
General
Anyone may edit the wiki at any time. These people can create new pages and edit old pages, provided they are not protected or semi-protected.
User
A User is anyone who has created a screenname on the wiki. They have editing powers over any pages and pages that are semi-protected.
Staff
The Dasaria Wiki has two types of staff presently, Sysops and Bureaucrats. These individuals are not part of the Dasarian DM Team and are do not in any way, shape, or form speak for them.
Sysop
A sysop is basically a moderator on the wiki. They have the power to protect, unprotect or delete pages; ban or unban users and possibly a few other abilities. Their job, besides adding to the wiki like any normal user, is to assure quality and maintain the wiki's integrity.
Bureaucrat
These are the administrators of the wiki. Their powers are vast and include things from promoting users to Sysops to uploading files and many other abilities. Their job is to maintain the wiki and act as general managers, as well as the same duties a Sysop has.
