Constellations of the Dasarian Sky

The Dasarian skies are sprinkled with many a constellation. Below are listed all those discovered.

Bard's Heart

The largest star in the southern skies can be seen during the darkest of nights only. It's said to bring clarity to the bard's mind, easing the preparation for a tall tale or a melodic tune. The grand city of Cear holds a celebration once a year during the fall. Fireworks can be seen from the sea for miles during this time. The Bard's Heart parades are renown and people of all corners of the world light a candle during the span of these celebrations.

Hunter' Eye

This star is not seen often, perhaps only a handful of times a year. Hunter's Eye is believed to be a boon to the hunter, to bring courage, strength and the constitution to spirt and enhance the warrior in all. Astronomers believe the light pink tint to the bright star is the result of each kill under the light of itself, representing the bloodshed of the hunt. The fact that its only a tint of color speculates it to be a young star.

Farmer's Blessing

This dim star appears in the harvest season. It can be seen for a week long day or night, it fades away shortly after and is not seen again until the next harvest. Farmers world wide celebrate by having a large feast on the first day of its sighting. On rare occasions, the star has been known not to appear, which has always resulted in a poor harvest for most farmers.

The Journey

The Journey represents the long stretch of thirty-one stars across the eastern skies. All bright and evenly separated in an "S" pattern, legend has it that "The Journey" is related to an ancient tale heard from elder bards of the lands, a tale of a friends and heroes, A journey to extinguish the evil of a far off demon. Many heroes of the land hold this tale in high regard and share this often with their children many years down the road.

Wanderer's Guide

This is perhaps the brightest star in the skies. Rain, shine sleet or snow this star is seen in the darkness every midnight over the seas. Pirates and tradesman guide their paths by using this as a beacon. Some native regions of the coast consider it a good luck sign to marry under the light of this bright star.

Knight's Valor

This star is said to be the spirit of an elven warrior of Rian, The goddess Ki held this essence so dearly to herself that she granted the warrior ever-lasting life in the form of the bright blue star seen directly above Rian each night. Elven mothers tell this tale to their young before bed, bringing pleasant dreams to the child's mind.

Lover's Sacrifice

This star only shows itself once every nine years, The sight of this large yellowish-white star is considered a blessing in birth. A child born under this light is considered "Blessed" and usually grows to love the arcane arts of wizardry. The story behind this star is said to be that of two parents that sacrificed their lives to a foul lich in place of their child's life. That child is speculated to be tied in within Empress Nelina's bloodline, although this is only a rumor.

Silent Night

This star is seen in over the seas every so often. This star is a sign of a calm and relaxing journey across the oceans. Tradesmen believe this to be a sign of good luck while exporting rare valuables. The skies are noticeably clearer during these nights as well.

Lucid Dream

This star is not often seen but people notice it appear just before a storm. The night is free of frustration, tension or nightmares, you awake the next day with a pleasant nature. No one is quite sure why this is but it is certain that its tied in with the massive rainstorms and horrid windstorms the following night.

The Blanket of Durace

Hundreds of stars make up a constellation that are closely separated from one another, and is said to hold a spiritual connection to those of the city. The story has it that the stars are the work of a archmage, a spell of whose went awry and the wizard was never seen again. The stars appeared soon after his disappearance. Whether there is truth to the legend is still in question.

Winter's Gem

This star, seen in the Arrith mountains, is white in color and small in size. The people of the mountains claim this star enlarges right before a massive blizzard, though aside from the word of the Telkhmar there is no evidence of this. The Winter's Gem isn't often seen from anywhere aside from the Arrith Mountains but its not uncommon to see it at least a few times a year from other parts of the world.

A bright red star first appeared in the western skies of Dasaria a short time before the Battle of Ravenswatch at 635 M.A. - while some attribute it to the goddess Ch'taia, a more common theory amongst scholars and stargazers proposes that it is, in fact, a Canite omen.
